Enjoying My Holiday...

I Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! As the new year approaches at break-neck speed, I am going to be hanging out with my family while hubby is off work for a few more days. Blogging will be back in full swing after that. My two littlest ones are sick too so I have been a bit preoccupied being a nurse-mommy. :)

I hope you all have a safe, healthy, happy and BLESSED New Year! There is so much in store for us...I can't wait to see all the wonderful blessings that come with 2013!!! :)

For this review I was given some free product coupons to try out some Minute Steamers. Because it was Christmas, I used one and gave the other ones away to some family members to try as well. I am a HUGE fan of fried rice and so that is the flavor I chose to review. These must be very popular because when I went to buy my Minute Steamers, the shelves where they are typically stocked were just about empty. This is a GOOD thing!

Cooking this particular product from Minute was a cinch. I was in a rush last night and needed a quick dinner for my children and I. (Hubby ate later). I popped some chicken nuggets on a baking tray and threw them in the oven for 8 minutes. Then, I put my Minute Steamers into the microwave for 4 minutes.

After the microwave beeped, I took out the bag and I had some of the best tasting fried rice EVER!! I love how all my favorite fried rice ingredients are included; eggs, peppers, carrots and more. This rice was sooo moist and tender, there wasn't a crunchy grain in it! My children enjoyed it as well...especially my son. This was a perfect side to put with their chicken nuggets too.

Not only do Minute Steamers come in rice mixes, but they also carry Macaroni & Cheese too! So, for those pickier eaters in your crew, they have something yummy for them as well. Simple, Quick Pain Relief with BENGAY® Zero Degrees

You have probably already read about how we have recently purchased a new home. This particular BENGAY product packaging is nothing like anything they carry. It looks like deodorant but it is total pain relief in stick form. Just be sure to let your family members know that it is NOT deodorant. :)

Before you use it for the first time, it is recommended that you put the entire stick into the freezer for about 2 hours. This will add to the cool feeling of the gel. The gel will not freeze either...it is formulated to stay in gel form even though it has been in the freezer. Once it is chilled, go ahead and click the dial on the bottom (like you would your deodorant) and apply to your sore areas. I have had a stiff neck for the past few days and I have been using this BENGAY® Zero Degrees. It works wonderfully...I experience cool and relaxing pain relief that typically lasts for about 2 hours. I love how you can use this particular BENGAY product and not get any on your hands. I don't mind the smell but sometimes I don't like getting it on my hands because I am always holding my baby and don't want to get it on him. So, the stick form is really REALLY nice.

So, in my opinion...BENGAY Zero Degrees is a fantastic product! I love how it relieves my tough muscle tightness and pain and also how the scent disappears. That is probably the best part. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone...especially all you fitness buffs who are going to be working out over this upcoming winter season. This is a top-of-the-line pain reliever that will give you exactly what you need for your toughest muscle pain.

From the time I was a teenager, I began to wear skirts exclusively. I do not own a pair of jeans, Capris or shorts...I just wear skirts all year long and I LOVE IT. :) To me, skirts really make a woman look like a lady and I truly feel that women look so much more feminine in skirts. So, for this review I was sent the Gorgeous Darling Long Jean Skirt. I was very excited about this skirt because it has some really cute details on it and I was excited to have a new skirt for Christmas.

I just love the pockets on the front and back...they are fringed with small studs accenting the seams. This particular skirt contains 2% spandex so it is a bit stretchy, which is good. I like a little "give" with my clothes as it makes them more comfortable. The hem is also fringed, which adds a nice touch.

This Gorgeous Darling Long Jean Skirt is the perfect length for me...it goes right to the floor but I don't trip on it. I also like how it has a white-washed look to it where it goes down the front of my legs. It looks great!

My son was super clingy when I tried this skirt on so that is why he is in the pictures. As you can see, it is very modest...it doesn't cling to my body and gives me plenty of length. I tend to prefer darker colored skirts so this is a great color also. One thing you need to know about Style J is to make sure you check the way they size their skirts. The skirt I am wearing is a size 42...I typically am a size 18-20. So, that is what I mean. Make sure you go by their sizing when you order from them. 

Style J's skirts also come in other materials too, not just denim. If you are looking for a professional office skirt or a fun skirt for a little girl, Style J carries those too! I also am really interested in their denim maternity skirts...they have my size and they are soooo feminine! Maternity clothes can be hard to find so it is good to know that they carry those.

Like I said before, my stove takes a real beating and as I was taking a closer look at some small appliances in my kitchen, I quickly realized that my stove is not my only problem.

So, for this review I was sent some samples of Greased Lightning Multi-Purpose Cleaner to try out and again, I was amazed! Through research, I learned that you can use this product from ceiling to floor and it leaves nothing but clean behind.

My coffee pot sits next to my sink and so it gets splashed with all sorts of things. Dish water, grease, grimy hands, etc. It gets pretty nasty looking and so that is what I tackled with my Greased Lightning. As you can see, it needed cleaning badly.

I sprayed the surfaces of my coffee pot with the solution and let it sit for a few seconds. Then, I took a paper towel and started wiping. It took very little effort and no "elbow grease" whatsoever. Because I am a busy mom, I don't have a lot of time to let something like this set and am usually wiping and cleaning while I am on the run so this was nice to not have to let soak. 

Honestly, I knew it was dirty but didn't know it was THAT dirty! I could not believe the yuck I wiped off...eew! I was glad to see all that dirt though because I knew that it was no longer on my coffee maker...which was GREAT!! 

Once I had finished, I was very pleased with the way my coffee maker looked. It was definitely cleaner than it was before and looked wonderful. I could actually read the clock clearly! No more grime just lots of shine!

Greased Lightning Multi-Purpose Cleaner retails for about $5.00 for a large size spray bottle. I would definitely love to stock up on this as we are moving to a new house and will be doing some initial cleaning at the house. Walking through the kitchen of the new place, I could see so many surfaces on which I could use this cleaner!!

So, in my opinion...Greased Lightning Multi-Purpose Cleaner is a wonderful product. I love how I can use it as a bathroom cleaner, patio cleaner and so much more! Speeding Tickets...How Fun.

I would like to say that I have never been pulled over or issued a speeding ticket. I had a very clean driving record up until several years ago when I was pulled over for speeding. Really, looking back, it was a legitimate ticket that I deserved. My reason for speeding was silly, and now that I have been through the process of getting and paying for a speeding ticket I drive much more carefully. One morning, I was on my way to work. As it so happened, I was running a bit behind and just HAD to stop at the coffee shop and get my cup of morning coffee. (I just could not survive the day without it, ya know!) At the time, I lived in the country and the route I took to work was through farm country until I hit the town in which I worked. Whenever I drove down a certain road, it was always so easy to go faster than the posted speed limit. The road was straight and flat, with very little traffic and the speed limit was 55. After glancing at the clock, I knew it would be difficult to get my coffee and still get to work on time. Sooo, I deliberately went a bit faster than I should have. Well, all was going along....fast....until I saw those red and blue flashing lights in my rear-view mirror. Uh oh.

The officer who pulled me over was really nice and asked if I knew why he was pulling me over. I told him that I was speeding. He informed me that I was going 72 in a 55...which was a bit too fast. Yeah, I knew that. LOL! So, he then proceeded to tell me that because I admitted to the fact that I was speeding and didn't lie about what I did, he would lower the ticket from a speeding ticket to a "failure to obey a traffic control device" ticket. Basically, I disobeyed the speed limit sign. I was grateful, yet didn't know just how much this ticket would cost me. Sadly, I was unable to get my coffee that day. :( BUT I was on time for work! :)

On my court date, I stood before the judge and pleaded guilty. I didn't want to lie about speeding, so I just told the truth. By the way...that is always the right thing to do, even if it does cost you something. Even though the officer lowered the ticket, I still got slapped with a $250.00 fine...ouch. I guess you could say I learned a costly lesson that day...if you speed, you just might get caught so it is better not to speed (and you will be a bit richer too)!!!

This notepad comes with a special pencil (made of Intense Cedar Wood), which is also waterproof. The pencil has a suction cup holder so you can keep it right next to the pad for easy access.

So, instead of putting this notepad in my shower, I placed it right above my kitchen sink. As you can see, it is small enough to fit in the space between my window and sink and yet big enough to write on. I can't tell you how many times I have been washing dishes and have had to dry my hands to write something down. This is soo handy!

The fun part was when I ran water over the notepad and then wrote on it. WOW! This pad is amazing...I was able to write without smudging the writing and without having the paper rip. In fact, the water just rolled off the paper. As you can see above, the water is dripping off the paper...but the paper stayed intact.

Sooo, am I skeptical anymore? Nope. I am totally in love with this notepad. It's hard to believe that a product like this exists and I am so glad to have found AquaNotes! Why Should Businesses Care About Social Media?

I have been thinking about this topic for awhile now and have the opportunity to write about it today. Why, you may ask, should a business care about social media? I have asked this question and never really understood it until I became a review blogger. Do you have any idea how many bloggers are out there? Or, how many Facebook members are typing their statuses throughout the day? I would bet that there isn't a second that goes by that someone isn't updating their Facebook status.

Today, I wanted to give you a few reasons why I think that Social Media should be important to businesses today...both online businesses and physical businesses.

1. Businesses have reputations. If you are a business, of any kind, then you probably have customers. These customers often tell others of their experience with you and ultimately, that should lead to you getting more customers. I have seen some businesses (who have Facebook pages) recently become the center attention simply because they treated a customer/employee badly. Having a nice business facebook page design can often detract from upset customers and this would greatly help any business that is struggling. Keeping a good reputation is important and social media can help with that.

2. Social Media builds exposure. As a blogger, I have found that some businesses approach me simply because they want to get their product/service out where people can find it more easily. Obviously, larger blogs have a better chance of getting them more exposure but smaller blogs can too! It is all in key word linking and wording. Believe it or not, blogs can have a HUGE impact on a company and their product.

3. Social Media can help OR hinder a business. If a customer has a problem with a company, sometimes they find that their best outlet for venting can be the Internet. This has been the case with many Facebook users. They can go to the company's Facebook page and leave comments there. They can also use their Twitter account to try and vent. This can be really bad for a business because things on the Internet go "viral" in short amounts of time. So, as a business, you should really strive to keep your customers happy and taken care of the minute they have a problem or issue.

Those are just a few thoughts I had on the topic of businesses caring about Social Media. The Internet is a powerful and very effective tool. Used properly, it can really help a business or, if you are not careful and don't care about you customers, can really hurt you as a business. Maybe after today you will see Social Media in a totally different light.

Isn't that cool? I thought so when I first saw it...so much detail and the finished product looks just like the real thing!!

So, for this review, I was given a Wrebbit 3D Puzzle and I chose to review the Taj Mahal 3D puzzle. This is a daunting, 950 piece puzzle and I didn't realize it at the time, but it is their biggest one (if you are counting the pieces)! It is also soooo beautiful, I just had to try to put it together!!

Before we started putting the puzzle together, we first had to go through all the pieces and remove the pieces with a red dot on them...these were the pieces that the laser machine cut but didn't remove. You can throw these away but we kept them in a separate Ziploc bag in case we accidentally put a piece in that was not supposed to be discarded.

Each piece has it's own shape and size. The pieces are also foam so they fit together snugly once they are properly matched. Obviously, the photo above has been enlarged to show the detail of two of the pieces.

My living room floor was covered in puzzle pieces every time we went to do a bit more of the puzzle. Because my house is small, I don't really have a place to do puzzles so we tackled this puzzle after the children were in bed. It literally took up my whole floor!!

Hubby and I tirelessly worked on this puzzle for at least 4 hours the first night and I felt that we got nowhere at all. There is so much to doing a puzzle like this and I thought for sure we would be done in one more evening session. One thing I loved was the instruction manual. It shows you no details on the pieces themselves, but gives you some direction as to what sections go where and what pieces are connected. This came in handy when I was trying to put together the dome.

After what seemed like an eternity...we finished the puzzle. I think it took over 15 hours to complete and some of those hours were frustrating. :) But it was SO worth it! See that big, beautiful dome? That was the hardest part because the pieces were not sitting flat; but rather you had to flex them so they would make the top rounded. HARD. VERY hard to do.

TAAAA DAAA!!! Our finished puzzle...the Taj Mahal! Wow. It is beautiful, isn't it?? Now if I could just find a way to display it out of the children's reach... :)
