It is hard to believe that we are so close to the holidays now...seems like I was just sitting here wishing for cooler temperatures as I dripped with sweat. My skin is always oily and so using oil is not something that I had ever considered doing. I use several different facial scrubs each morning and was very excited to see if this moisturizer worked well for me.

So, for this review I was sent two bottles of Beautiful...one for the morning and one for the evening. I love how the label is customized for my name! Personalized products are so special, especially when it comes to the holidays. Each of these bottles is 0.5 ounces in size and that might not seem like alot, but it truly is. You are only using 2-3 drops of liquid per application and a little goes a long way. When you first use "Beautiful", you may experience your skin going through a detox process and you may have some blemishes for 1-2 days or up to a week. It takes about 30 days for your skin to fully adjust to "Beautiful" but once it does, you will be well on your way to gorgeous, youthful skin!

The top is a shaker-top style so it is easy to get drops of liquid. I would say that a medicine dropper style might be better in this case though because I always get way more than I need when I shake the liquid out. It could be controlled easier if there was a dropper. I will also say here that the scent of "Beautiful" is so lovely...very fresh, clean and natural. The ingredients are as follows:

A.M. Ingredients: 100% Pure Botanical oils of almond, orange, lemon, avocado and olive.

P.M. Ingredients: 100% Pure Botanical oils of almond, orange, lemon, evening primrose and apricot.

So, to use this moisturizer you simply apply 2-3 drops on your cheeks and spread over your entire face. You don't want to rub it in, just spread it around and blot the extra off with a towel. Because I get more than 2-3 drops worth when I sake the liquid onto my hand I always have extra so blotting extra is something I have to do.

One thing I am having a hard time getting used to with this product is how my face feels oily after application. It does not absorb into my skin very quickly but it still helps my skin to feel nourished and soft. I have been using this product for a while now and have not noticed any huge differences however, I have noticed my skin is slightly softer. This is something that I like to see and will definitely keep using "Beautiful" in the months to come. I am all about looking beautiful. Somehow, being a stay at home mom does not afford me many opportunities to go out of my way to wear makeup but I do enjoy the opportunities that I do get. I am a huge fan of perfume...I wear it every day whether I am going out or staying it. It just helps me to feel good and I also love smelling nice. This perfume is vegan, all natural, gluten free and also cruelty free. In case you were wondering, this product bears the PETA's cruelty-free and vegan bunny logo. :) I am not a PETA person or vegan but it is nice to know that there are products out there that are committed to this.

Each of these samples has a small applicator stick that you can use to apply the perfume easily. I think my favorite fragrance was Empower...which benefits the charity Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Here is a description of Empower: Crisp, sparkling blend of citrus top notes interspersed with an herbaceous mix of spearmint, lemongrass and basil. A dry down of subtle woods make EMPOWER clean, contemporary…and incredibly all natural.

We are not completely out of the summer months around here yet but we are definitely pressing on towards cooler temperatures! YAY! After summer, our skin can look so worn out from exposure to the sun and other summer elements...it is nice to have something nice to apply to our skin to help it rebuild, re-energize and recover some of the lost nutrients.

So, for this review I was sent a small sample sized tube of their SuperCrema Bio-Natural Creamy Balm. I was really interested to see what this cream was like, given the wholesome ingredients. 

This cream is super thick, almost like a salve. I could see right away that you would need only a small amount to achieve a nice layer on your skin. There is not much odor at all and it seems to be very luxurious. I used this cream on my arms and also on my hands. I will say that I wasn't thrilled with how slowly it absorbed...it seemed a bit on the greasy side but once it was absorbed, it felt fine. Because I am constantly using my hands, this would not be a good cream to use during the day; but at night, it would be very beneficial I believe. Because Olive Oil is so good for my skin, I will most likely be using this cream throughout the fall and winter months.

Get Back To School Ready with the Mary Kay NEW ClearProof Acne System!

I have never struggled with Acne, although I have always struggled with oily skin and problematic blemishes. Skin imperfections can really make me feel self-conscious and I have been searching for solutions for my skin issues. For you ladies out there...it seems that around "that time of the month", our skin can look especially scary and rough so I always dread that. When you have teenagers, it seems that having a clear complexion is almost as important as popularity because, after all, acne can be a real turn off when it comes to having friends. Because I was home schooled, I never felt the hurt and inconsideration of peers when it came to my skin so it never really effected me like it can effect some teens. However, there will be many teens and young adults returning to school this fall with acne and if not treated, it could lead to a devastating and lonely year for them.

Well, as usual, Mary Kay has thought through the Acne issue and has come up with a fantastic line of products to aid in the treatment and further prevention of Acne and is a necessity when thinking about your back to school beauty regimen. I have noticed that with other clarifying products I have used on my face they tend to dry out and seem harsh on the skin. This presents a very different result and I was excited to try it out.

So, for this review I was sent a $20 trial size set of ClearProof Acne System to try out and I wanted to share my thoughts on this product with all of you! I was also sent two other Mary Kay products as well...Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in Rock 'n' Red and Mary Kay® Lash Love® Lengthening™ Mascara.

First and foremost, I have always loved the Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara...it is easy to use, non-clumping and makes my eyelashes look oh so full and gorgeous. The lengthening factor is a nice feature for someone with short eyelashes, but I have pretty long eyelashes to begin with so I don't notice much of a difference when using this mascara as opposed to the other mascaras. All of Mary Kay's mascaras are luscious so it is hard to pick a favorite. 

Oh goodness...Rock 'n' Red is SO red...hahaha! I am sure it looks amazing on the right person but with my ghostly white skin, it is a bit shocking. Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss is wonderful as a whole. I have several and I use them often. My favorites are the pink toned ones and the Cafe au Lait has to be my absolute favorite. Smooth and creamy, the NouriShine Plus Lip Glosses are fantastic and really do add a nice finish to any makeup look that you may choose. 

I was very VERY pleased to have the opportunity to sample the Mary Kay NEW ClearProof Acne System and was even more satisfied with the results. I first started with the ClearProof Clarifying Cleansing Gel. All I did was apply a thin layer to my entire face and then rinsed it off. My skin immediately felt clean and clear. I have really large pores on my nose and they typically harbor quite a bit of dirt. I was really pleased to see that those pores were clear...at last! Once I finished cleansing my skin, I applied some of the Acne Treatment Gel. This gel is thin in consistency and dries very quickly. I was really surprised that it didn't leave a filmy layer on my skin given the fact that it was a gel. 

The Blemish Control Toner contains salicylic acid and really adds a great feel to the skin once applied. It smells like any other toner you might use and it feels so refreshing. Typically, when I use a toner (which I haven't in a very long time) my skin feels tight. However, this toner actually left my skin feeling soft. I loved that. The only thing left to try was the Oil Free Moisturizer and was wonderful as well. All of these products are pretty much fragrance free and while I love scented beauty products, I was not at all disappointed with this ClearProof Acne System. 

So, the next time someone comes to me complaining of an Acne problem with them or someone they know, I will definitely recommend this Acne System to them. I am very happy with how my skin looks and feels after using these products and as always, Mary Kay is simply my favorite company for all of my beauty needs!

Organix-South Review & Giveaway

Skin care is probably one of the biggest themes that I have going on around here right now. It seems that our skin really takes a beating and companies know this. So, it is no wonder that I keep discovering new companies that offer natural skin care products that are suitable for the entire family. One of the skin care items that I have been looking to try is an all natural bug repellent. Oh my goodness...the mosquitoes this year are the size of Africa! Every time I go outside...even during the day, the mosquitoes are out in full force and I get so many bites. This equals wonderful breeding conditions for those pesky biting critters. The other night, I was lying in bed when I heard that tell-tale sound of a mosquito. I was very excited to dig into my goodies and I wasted no time getting to know Organix-South. :) First, I tried the Leaf & Oil Lotion. 

This lotion is very nice. It feels great going on my skin and absorbs quickly while still making my skin feel nourished. I also loved that it didn't feel greasy, smelled pleasant and when I washed my skin, it didn't leave a filmy layer...you know how some lotions can still feel thick and goopy after washing your hands? This is not like that at all. I am wanting my husband to try this out as he has extremely itchy skin and this lotion is also good for that ailment. The travel sized Leaf & Oil Lotion that I received retails for $1.95.

Next, I tried the Naked Organix Neem Butter To Go. This is a unique product as it can be used for your lips, body and face. Now, I have only used it on my lips so far and have found that the taste is not pleasant. SO, I will probably keep it away from my lips and use it on my skin from now on. I will also say that it felt WONDERFUL on my lips so if I can convince myself to get beyond the taste, I might use it on my lips more often. :) My daughter loves any type of lip care product and so she also tried out this Butter. The Neem Mouthwash is very nice as well. It definitely has some herbal undertones to it and yet, is very minty and fresh tasting. After using, my mouth did feel clean and it did seem to completely freshen my breath as well. The color threw me off though...brown mouthwash isn't the norm around here but something that I can definitely get used to. :) Neem Mouthwash retails for $3.99/Travel Size and $13.49/Full Size bottle. 

I have never seen a Nail & Cuticle Pen like this one before. Confession time: I am a nail-biter. Sometimes. One of the reasons I bite my nails is because they get split and instead of getting nail clippers, I bite them off. Nail biting is not something that I have always done as an adult, but rather shows up when I am stressed or sick. So, having a product like this Nail & Cuticle Pen is great because it can both strenghten my nails as well as keep the cuticles healthy. It is so easy to use as well...simply tilt the pen downward until you see some oil in the tip. Then, brush the oil onto your nails and cuticles. I have sore cuticles as well and this pen works really nicely to soothe them. I am LOVING this pen and am definitely going to keep using it! The Nail & Cuticle Pen retails for $15.49.

In the beginning of this post I spoke about mosquitoes. Well, we had a lot of work to do outside last night and I was dreading it because of the bugs. I. Hate. Bugs. Period. They are annoying and they bite and they buzz around my head in endless circles. So, before I started my work I applied the Neem Herbal Outdoor Spray. This spray was originally developed for the Florida Everglades and I just knew it had to be good if it was made for Florida. You all know about the bugs that are down there! YUCK. This spray goes on in a thick spray rather than a mist so you need to spread it around with your hands after applying. I made sure to cover my arms, neck, legs and head. The smell definitely tells you that it is a bug repellent...but I don't mind at all! I also put this on my children and husband as well. Mosquitoes are HORRIBLE here and so we need something really effective. Well, after being outside for over 2 hours I have to say that this spray worked wonderfully! The bugs that were around me prior to using this spray disappeared after I used the spray and I was hooked. So, make sure if you are planning a campfire, picnic or hike that you have this Herbal Outdoor Spray handy. IT WORKS. The Neem Herbal Outdoor Spray retails for $9.29 and is worth every penny. 

Last but not least I tried the Neem Liquid Soap. This soap is brown in color and seems watery. However, when you rub your hands together you do get a nice lather so don't let the consistency fool you. It can be used for body wash, bath soak, facial cleanser and some other uses as well. This particular liquid soap is unscented so if you are sensitive to scented products, this would suit you perfectly! You really do not need much and it leaves your hands feeling clean and soft. I had no issues with this soap drying out my skin either. The Neem Liquid Soap retails for $12.95.

Personally, I have been loving using these TheraNeem products from Organix-South. They are gentle on my skin and I love using natural products. The facts that these products are safe for my entire family is also relieving...my children have sensitive skin so using these products on them has been wonderful as well. "Fun In The Sun" Mary Kay Gift Basket Giveaway (& Review)

I don't know about you but I have been having such a great summer. My horrid thoughts and worries about life with out central air have been put to rest and in spite of having no A/C, we have survived and are actually used to the warm weather now. Hard to believe though that Christmas is just 4 months away now (did I just say that?!?) and we will soon be pulling out the sweaters and jackets. For now though, lets talk about summer. Ok, so who doesn't know about Mary Kay? This is probably one of my favorite makeup companies of all time and recently, I made an Avon lady so sad (not on purpose) when I told her that I was a Mary Kay fan. :( I wasn't trying to be rude, it is just true. Avon is a nice company but Mary Kay is just so glamorous...I love everything about them. Here is a bit more about Mary Kay Ash and how she began this wonderful company...

Ever since I first tried Mary Kay's "Journey" Eau de Parfum over 10 years ago, I was forever hooked on Mary Kay. A friend told me about this perfume and gave me a sample and I fell in love. Instantly. So, when I receive the opportunity to review Mary Kay products and share them with you, I am so excited!

For this post I was sent several products to review and share with you. I received...Mary Kay Beauty Blotters Oil Absorbing Tissues, Mary Kay Foundation Primer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum and Mary Kay® Makeup Finishing Spray.

Out of these three products it is really hard to choose which one is my favorite. First, I will tell you about the Beauty Blotters. These small pieces of tissue paper are fantastic for blotting your skin when you begin to perspire. They help to keep the shiny, oily look at bay. All you do is remove a tissue from the package and lightly press it on your skin. Areas like your forehead, under your nose and chin can be big culprits for oily shininess so these are the places I like to use these tissues. The package is small enough to fit in your handbag or purse so you can take them anywhere. They're perfect and definitely a beauty must have! The Mary Kay Beauty Blotters Oil Absorbing Tissues retail for $6.

Next, there is the Foundation Primer. This, ladies, is a wonderful product because it creates a smooth and silky base for your foundation. I find that having something like this is perfect for smoothing the "look" of my foundation. Too many times my face can look "pitted" and this helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pores. It can even help to even your skin texture and improve your skin's complexion! What a great product. Mary Kay® Foundation Primer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum retails for $16.

Last but certainly not least is one of Mary Kay's newest products - the Makeup Finishing Spray. This spray is meant for a final touch to your makeup and dries quickly. You can also use it for a refresher throughout the day to give your makeup a nice touch-up. I love that it is so easy to use...simply hold it in front of your face and spray in a "T" motion. This ensures that you get the coverage you need and that the application will be even. Perfect for all skin types, the Mary Kay Makeup Finishing Spray retails for $18.

As you can see, Mary Kay has some lovely offerings for your summer beauty regimen. I have been really blessed by all of the Mary Kay products that I have tried and would really encourage you to check out Mary Kay as well.
