Holiday Gift Guide ~ Goose Creek Candle Co. Review & Giveaway

There is nothing more inviting than walking into a home that has the aroma of the season. Whether it is a piping hot apple pie that has just come out of the oven, or a fresh cut pine tree beautifully decorated in the sitting room. This is by far, my most favorite time of the year. I enjoy all the scents of the holidays including hot, spiced cider, pumpkin pie, cranberries and spices, nutmeg, ginger and berries. There is just no end to the luscious smells that can permeate your senses during this most wonderful time of the year.
When it comes to scenting my home, I love to use candles. Because there are so many candle companies out there, I have millions of choices for which scent I buy and when. I just love how this time of year gives me so many great-smelling options...some of the candles I burn smell sooo good...good enough to eat!! Recently, I discovered Goose Creek Candle Co. and was very excited to see that they offer a wide variety of holiday and every-day candles! Here is the history of this company, which is family owned and operated...

Melvin Meece died too young to fulfill the dream of owning his own business. But with his passing, that seed came alive in his son, Chuck. Today he is living the life his father only dreamed of and passing that spirit on to his own children. From his bustling facility situated atop one of Kentucky’s many flat-topped ridges, Meece and his staff manufacture, market and sell thousands of Goose Creek candles weekly-shipping to customers around the nation and the world. Chuck tested his hand at working for himself early in life. He began a vending business right after graduating high school and spent years looking for a niche to further develop it. He found it during the late ‘90’s, as the “candle craze” was kicking off.

In an effort to add to the vending business, Chuck began producing candles from his home. But he didn’t do it alone. Chuck met his wife Tamara, in high school. Tamara knew Chuck’s desire to work for himself, so she supported his dreams of being a small business owner. While they worked side by side to pursue their hopes and dreams-a home of their own and children, Tamara dreamed of a career in teaching and went to college to earn a degree in elementary education. But as Chuck’s desire increased, Tamara realized this was a thirst that couldn’t be quenched, and the two set out together to make Chuck’s dream a reality.

The next generation of Meece entrepreneurs, sons Micah and Jordan already out of the gate; have both made successful strides within the industry. Goose Creek Candle began operations in 1997 as a sole proprietorship. At that time, they focused solely on hand poured scented candles. The company slowly developed a national marketing representative network, which now covers all the states within the continental U.S., and dozens of other countries across Europe. Today, hundreds of Goose Creek sales reps travel around the country marketing and selling Goose Creek candles. Goose Creek products can be found in thousands of retailers across the U.S. and dozens of countries across Europe.

I am not sure why, but I had never heard of Goose Creek Candle Co. until just a few weeks ago! Maybe it is because I am so out of the loop due to not getting out enough? Not sure why, but I am so glad that I found this candle company!!
So, for this review I was sent a gorgeous jar candle from the American Heirloom collection. The scent I chose to receive was the Whipped Pumpkin Latte. It sounded SO amazing...I just had to see what it was like! I love how rustic this jar candle looks...it has an engraved, tin lid that seals the smell in until you open it and the jar itself looks antiquated. It also looks like it would make a great centerpiece or coffee table candle.
I have to tell you that as soon as I opened the box, I knew this was a great candle. Typically, the strongest scented candles will smell great even before they are burned. This candle smells AMAZING. There are two wicks, which adds a wonderful touch when the candle is lit.
This candle smells just like autumn and all my favorite scents. Maple, vanilla, pumpkin and cinnamon are infused into this candle, making it a delicious smelling and beautiful candle! I have been burning this candle for about an hour now and my house smells wonderful. Because we are showing our house often (we are trying to sell our house), I will light a candle about an hour or two before the showing to help the house smell warm and inviting. This would be a great choice to use on showing days! Another thing that I love about Goose Creek Candles is that they don't look or smell cheap. This is important to me as a gift giver...I want my gifts to look like they are unique and special.
All of the American Heirloom candles (including this lovely Whipped Pumpkin Latte) retail for $20. There are also 29 scents from which to choose including Vanilla Cashmere, Spun Sugar, Iced Dew Drops and Cranberry Vanilla...YUM! By the way, be sure to check out Goose Creek Candle Co. on Facebook and also on Twitter. I am sure they would be glad to meet you!

So, in my opinion...Goose Creek Candle Co. is a very nice company. Their candles smell really great and even after burning my candle for a short period of time, it has fragranced my home entirely! It isn't too strong or overpowering...but just right. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to invest in some great-smelling candles. Candles always make fantastic gifts and would please just about anyone on your list!
Goose Creek Candle Co. has offered to give away an American Heirloom Jar Candle to one of you! You can have your choice of scent too! Here are your entry options...
