Holiday Gift Guide ~ Enviro-Log Firestarters Review & Giveaway

I have always wanted a fireplace...especially around the Holidays. There is just something about snuggling under a warm blanket, hot chocolate in hand, in front of a cozy, blazing fireplace. Wood heat is so wonderful and so economical as well. The other reason I would like a fireplace is because it would be a good source of heat should the electric go out in the winter time. One of the frustrating things about having a fireplace, woodstove, campfire or other small fire is getting it started. I remember camping trips with my family and how long it took sometimes to get a fire going. My dad would fiddle with the crumpled newspapers, matches and a paper plate to fan the flames until a fire was nicely burning. My siblings and I would stand around watching and waiting...we wanted to roast our marshmallows! :) Well, this year if you are looking to get a helpful gift for the camping or fireplace lover in your family, you are going to want to check out this next company!
Enviro-Log is a company that makes eco-friendly fire starters! I have never heard of this company before and was very excited to learn more about them. Lighting fires could not be easier...and the best part is these fire starters work EVERY time! Here is a bit more about Enviro-Log...

Enviro-Log is the nation's largest recycler of waxed old corrugated cardboard (wocc) and 3rd largest producer of firelogs in North America.

Currently, Enviro-Logs are the only national brand safe to use in woodstoves, chimineas, campfires, and as a cooking fuel just like firewood but with much cleaner emissions.

Enviro-Log Firelogs have been tested to UL standards and methods in both the US and Canadian markets by Omni Environmental Services, considered an authority on manufactured firelogs.

I was really happy to see that Enviro-Log recycles products to make their products. I try to recycle products here at my house so I am definitely in support of using products that are recycled.
So, for this review I was sent a box of Enviro-Log Firestarters to review and test out. In one box, you will get 24 cups.
When I opened my box, I noticed right away how great these fire starters smelled. At first, they smelled like pine. Once they are burning, they smell like a pine scented candle.
Using these Enviro-Log Firestarters is super easy. All you do is put them under your wood and light the rim of the cup. The cup starts to burn and it melts and ignites the wax. This will start your fire safely and effectively...the first time! I noticed that there was no smoke or offensive smell when I lit one of these fire starters and it burned really clean.

Enviro-Log Firestarters can be purchased in boxes of 24, and you can find them across the country in Lowes and other regional grocery and hardware stores. Enviro-Log Firestarters retail for $12.99. Also, if you would like to keep up with Enviro-Log, you can check them out on Facebook and also on Twitter. By the way, right now Enviro-Log is giving away a case of Firelogs each week on their Facebook site.  All it takes to enter is to “like” their page and post a photo of where you would burn your Firelogs.  Winners are selected randomly and a new contest starts each Monday. Check out their Facebook Page for more information.
So, in my opinion...Enviro-Log Firestarters are a great way to start a fire safely, cleanly and effectively. If you have someone on your Christmas list who loves to be outdoors, or loves to cuddle by the fireplace on a chilly winter night, use a few of these firestarters in their stocking! What a great stocking stuffer idea! :) Fantastic company, eco-friendly and easy...sounds like a wonderful gift for anyone!
