Dr.'s REMEDY Embraces PINK in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness (Review & Giveaway)

I have been really impressed with the companies that I have seen promoting and supporting October as Breast Cancer Awareness month. Every penny that can be raised to find a cure is important and I really do wish more companies would follow others in supporting survivors and their families. As far as I know, there is no history of breast cancer in my family but I can definitely be the one who starts that history. If I were to ever be diagnosed with cancer of any kind I can guarantee you that I would want a cure to be in place so that my children would have a mother for the years to come. This is why I think it is so important to support the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Dr.'s REMEDY Enriched Nail Polish is one company that is showing their support of Breast Cancer Awareness this month. They have three lovely polishes that are different shades of pink and by wearing these colors, you too can show your support.

Founded by Dr.'s William Spielfogel and Adam Cirlincione (board certified podiatrists), Dr.'s REMEDY was created after Dr. Cirlincione's wife was concerned about being exposed to dangerous chemicals while pregnant. Here is a bit more about this company...

The birth of Dr.'s REMEDY® began with a warning. Dr. Cirlincione's wife was pregnant and advised against using hair dyes, eating certain foods, and being exposed to harsh chemicals. Dr. Cirlincione began to research the toxins contained in most commercial nail polish, which is commonly used by pregnant women. It became obvious that formaldehyde, toluene and DBP are not only linked to serious health problems, but also potentially damaging to the nail as well.

Dr. Cirlincione partnered with Dr. Spielfogel and together they formulated Dr.'s REMEDY®, free from THE BIG 3, but also UNIQUELY ENRICHED with ingredients, such as tea tree oil and garlic bulb extract, which are naturally occurring anti-fungal, antibacterial, and healthier for the nail.

Another "perk" of Dr.'s REMEDY is that their polishes appeal to women with discolored nails and also to parents who want safer alternatives for their children. I happen to fit into both of those categories as I can tend to have yellow-tinted toe nails and I have a daughter who is a girly-girl and wants her nails painted year round! Sometimes the overwhelming odor of nail polish is enough to keep me from painting my daughter's nails...I don't like exposing her to chemicals like that!

So, for this review I was sent the three colors that Dr.'s REMEDY is using to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness: Hopeful Hot Pink, Nurture Nude Pink and Purity Pink. It is hard to tell the difference between the Nurture Nude Pink and the Purity Pink...the Nurture Nude Pink has a pink shimmer to it and looks more opaque when applied. One thing I noticed was that there was an odor of nail polish, but it was not near as strong as I am accustomed to smelling when using nail polish. It definitely seems "cleaner".

My favorite color out of these three was the Purity Pink. After two coats, my nails looked soo good. You could tell I had polish on, but not so much that it was overwhelming. It looked very natural and super glossy.

The brush is also nice and wide so you don't have to go over your nail multiple times to ensure coverage. I also like how large the cap is so you can get a good hold of the brush.

Sorry about my short nails there...I have very brittle nails and because they are in water most of the day, they get even softer and I cannot keep them as long as I would like. This is another aspect of Dr.'s REMEDY that I love...their polishes are enriched, which means that they help promote strong and healthy nails.

The Hopeful Hot Pink is REALLY pink! My daughter was attracted to this color as soon as she saw the bottles sitting on the table. This was the color she chose for her toes and boy did she love it!!

I also applied this to my toe nails and it is very bright and eye-catching. I loved how great this color looked with my dressy flip flops too! Isn't it pretty? By the way, I know we are out of flip flop weather but I still like to wear mine quite a bit. :)

So, in my opinion...Dr.'s REMEDY is a fantastic company! I love how their nail polishes are enriched and contain natural anti-fungal fighting ingredients that help keep nails healthy. The colors are bright, shiny and very beautiful and by wearing these three colors for Breast Cancer Awareness month will enable you to show your support for this wonderful cause!
